What to wear
Dress in layers
Base layers plus a warm mid-layer let you adjust as the mountain weather changes.
Waterproof outerwear
A waterproof jacket, pants and gloves keep you warm and dry all day.
Goggles & sunscreen
Eye protection and sunscreen are a must — the high-desert sun is strong at elevation.
Gear & lessons
Renting is easy, and a lesson is the fastest way to enjoy day one. The Never-Ever Experience bundles a lift ticket, rentals and a beginner lesson into one simple package.
Food, water & sun
Pack snacks and water, and remember the sun is intense at altitude. Base-area food is available whenever you need a break to warm up.
Getting to the resort
Sandia Peak sits in the Cibola National Forest, about 45 minutes from Albuquerque on NM-536. Park at the base area and arrive at least 45 minutes early if you have a lesson.
Early-bird savings
Book-ahead lift tickets start as low as $19 — the best rate is online, in advance.
