Today has been an exciting day in the FPV world. DJI has officially announced its new Cinewhoop drone, the Avata with the new DJI Goggles 2.

The new goggles are definitely a step up from the DJI Goggles V2 (which just had a massive price cut to $439) and are packed with two Micro-OLED screens in a smaller form factor.
The new Goggles 2 feature:
- 2 hour Battery Time
- Small Form Factor and Better Ergonomics
- Diopter Adjustment
- 51º Field-of-View
- 100 Hz Refresh Rate
- 1080P Video Feed with the Avata
- Max Transmission Bitrate 50 Mbps

Although the goggles are definitely a step above their predecessor, they also come with some drawbacks. At this time, the new goggles will only work with the DJI Avata and will NOT work with the Caddx Vista systems or the current DJI Air Units.
This is a major disappointment in the FPV community as the V2 goggles have been out for some time with the community wanting a refresh. Hopefully, DJI will push out a firmware update to allow backward compatibility to use with all previous Air Units.
Regardless of the minor drawbacks, I\’m still excited to pick a pair of these up and give them a try. You can preorder the goggles at GetFPV here with an expected ship date in October 2022.
